Present for Roll Ca11: Ginger Adrian, Marcia Bruns, Ward Crowley, Gene Dykes, Bill Geurds, Dwight Hamilton, Margaret Houston, Al Mencher, Bob Mobus, Ruth Stauffer, Fred Steffens, Chris Switzer, Marge wolpert, and Rusty Mikel. The minutes were approved as circulated. idhes man Al Mencher presented as a new member Mrs. Marcia Bruns, President of the Jaycee-ettes, who will head the committee on Pie -baking for the contest in Bond Park, September 25, 1976. Joel Valdez, an intern with the State CBC Commission, and his friend Liz Sawyer were introduced to the group. Mr. Valdes presented a Colorado Centennial banner to the Chairman for the Town and answered questions about Colorado Cummunity grants from the State Commission. 'rr.e, ba+:r'.t."r Rusty Mikel suggested that buttons might be issued to entrants in the Beard -Growing Contest. the Ward Crowley reported for Clubs, to include a 13-minute film from 1the eState files, toon aA Slidobewfbooked Servine the month of March. Al Mencher reported for the committee on Historic Site Signs. After study, the committee felt the project was not financially feasible to construct 20 permanent signs and suggested that only 2 or 3 be set up, perhaps at Dunraven's Cottage, the Elkhorn, and the Stanley. Margaret Houston reported receipt of U112.41 in the cannisters labeled "Cents for Centennial" Motion was made that the cannisters remain in restaurants and businesses through January and at service club meetings and that the drive be repeated in July. Motion was seconded and passed, to be reviewed at the next meeting. Chris Switzer and Bob Mobus reported requests from a Aeacher in the Elementary School for demonstrations and information about early history 4nd crafts. The Chairman appointed them as a committee to coordinate activities between the schools and the Commission. Motion was made, seconded and carried that this appointment be ratified by the Commission. Ruth Stauffer requested more specific information on Events for the State calendar. Tentative date for F.O. Stanley Day is September 25 to coincide with Fair events in Bond Park. Bill Guerds reported on Living Trails. He and Gene Dykes called a meeting of representatives of institutions and programs for the handicapped. Needs will be studied and sponsors sought. Next meeting January 16$h. Dwight Hamilton reported on project to save the Big Horn, funds to be solicited nationally and patrons to be awarded reproduction of painting by Ray Harm. Seminars will be held in RMNP in July and August. Gene Dykes offered the newly constructed backdrop for Junior Miss Show to the Commission for The meeting adjourned at 9:20 p.m. future events.
