First, | need to advise that the Bed & Breakfast Inn regulations are now administered through the Town C|ad/o office. |'m copying them on this email for additional information orquestions. There is an apparent conflict with the approach you're outlining. Sec. 5.2.U.2.a.(2) reads as follows: Guest rooms shall be integrated within the bed and breakfast inn. Possibly the cottage could be integrated with the main house by constructing a link between the two (corridor, breezeway, additional room, etc.); however, if the two buildings remain separated with open space between them, the clause above seems to prevent the cottage from B&B occupancy. If a connection is of interest, please let us know and we can discuss that possibility. It's good to know the minor subdivision is on its way to us. We operated a bed & breakfast at the 325 James Street address from 2013 through 2018, and after 2019 let the license lapse aowewere not intending to re-open. At the time, wo were told that we could na'app|yaa a BnB and get un inspection should vvo decide to re-open later. I (Mark)was laid off last July and am now semi-retired. We are looking for ways to again have some income from this propedy. However, we think it would be too much to try to operate the full five bedroom main house. Therefore, vvaare inquiring about a modification to what we had before. When we were open, the onaite innkeeper lived in the cottage and the full house was available for rent upto our eight person limit. We would like tm occupy and have m full time pn*emnoe in the main house, and instead rent the cottage out short-term as a one bedroom bed J& breakfast. Before I request the life safety inspection and begin the process, I wanted to inquire and see whether there would be a problem with this proposal.
