Very truly yours, E. G. Gooch, President. • Ethel Mills, Vicepresident, JAAJI,A Juli:. •y•en, Secretarj. ay Brainard, Treasurer, June 30, 1941 Memorandum to Mr. Ernest C. Gooch, President The Estes Park Golf and Country Club Estes Park, Colorado Dear Ernestr The Colorado Industrial Commission has made a ruling under the Workmen's Compensation Act that for executive officers of oorporations, even though it be a non-profit organization, a maximum salary of $1,500 for each officer has to be inoluded in computing the pay roll under workmen's compensation polioies. According to this ruling the premium on the workmen's compensation policy of the club would be increased from $28.00 to $54.50. There is one way in which the club can be relieved of this charge and that is if the officers of the club go on record as refusing the provisions of the Workmen's Comp- ensation Act. In order to do that it is necessary for you to draw up a resolution that the President, Vice President and Secretary -Treasurer of the Estes Park Golf & Country Club have filed with the Directors of the club a statement that they are refusing the provisions of the Workmen's Compensation Act of the State of Colorado. If you will then give me a certified copy of the resolution I will transmit it to the Industrial Commission of Colorado. Of course, if you and Fay, and whoever is Vice President, refuse to accept the provisions of the Act and any one of you becomes injured while looking after any natters on behalf of the club you would not be granted compensation.
