ADOPTING THE 2022ESTESVALLEY FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT
COMMUNITY WILDFIRE PROTECTION PLAN
WHEREAS, the importance of wildfire protection planning is at the top of many
residents' minds after two significant fire years in 2020 and 2021 -, and
WHEREAS, Community Wildfire Protection Plans KCVVPPa help communities
aaaeaa local hazards and identify strategic investments to mitigate risk and promote
preparedness; and
WHEREAS, the Estes Valley Fire Protection District (EVFPD), in collaboration with
the Town of Estes Park. LahmerCounty' the Colorado State Forest Service, and the
Estes Valley Watershed Coa|ition, completed an update of the 2009 CVVPP that
addresses changing conditions and takes advantage of advances in fire science; and
VVHEREAG, the updated CVVPP serves on a tool for the fire district, Town, land
managere, reaidenta, oommunitiea, and homeowner's associations (HOAa) to begin
prioritizing projects that make the Estes Valley safer and more resilient community to
NOW, THEREFORE, BE|TRESOLVED BYTHE BOARD OFTRUSTEES OF
THE TOWN OF ESTES PARK, COLORADO:
The Board adopts the plan referenced inthe title of this resolution in the form now
before the Board.
