Mayor Dannels called the joint meeting to order at 1:13 P.M.
RIVERWALK/CORRIDOR PROJECT - UPDATE.
Director Anderson displayed a plan and identified points of
interest on the aforestated project. At this point, the project
includes: expansion of the park adjacent to the Riverside
restrooms (including a playground and (donated) playground
equipment, and four picnic tables); a walkway that will be
defined with bollards; trees (existing and new) a space for
entertainment near the Barlow Plaza; handicap accessibility to a
future pedestrian bridge near the Brownfield Building; parking
along Brownfield's which will be retained; undergrounding of
utilities through the entire stretch; lowering the river; and two
fishing ponds which will be stocked by the State.
Construction schedule: begin the river work mid -January (3
months), with work on the actual walkway to begin in April until
June.
EPURA requested an Executive Session to discuss property acquisi-
tion. There being no further business, Mayor Dannels adjourned
the meeting to Executive Session at 2:05 P.M.
