URBAN RENEWAL 10-YEAR RECAP - SLIDE PRESENTATION.
Executive Director Anderson reviewed EPURA's evolution, stating
that EPURA is a separate political body from the Town with separate
powers; commissioners are appointed by the Board of Trustees for
5-year terms; and that EPURA's purpose has been to construct public
streetscape and infrastructure following the 1982 Flood. EPURA has
been extremely successful in promoting growth in the downtown area.
An EPURA 10-year recap slide program was presented that included
"before and after" slides, and information addressing funding.
Director Anderson addressed EPURA's bond issues and reported where
their funds are expended. The program was followed by a question
and answer period.
Mayor Dannels stated that prior to 1982, Estes Park was loosing its
market share --the Town was in decline. Since 1982, steady growth
has been maintained.
Newly -elected Trustees were encouraged to meet with Director
Anderson to obtain additional information.
There being no further business, Mayor Dannels adjourned the
meeting at 9:03 A.M.
