DARK HORSE PLAZA - UPDATE:
Russell Moore/Design Studios West (DSW) presented a revised
concept plan of the Dark Horse Plaza area. Mr. Moore stated the
confluence of the Big Thompson and Fall River was the most
important aspect of the approach. Primary focus of the project
is to (1) create a 'draw' of people to Town and (2) create a
relationship between retail business, the river and amenities.
Discussion will take place between DSW and the Public Works
Department with regard to construction materials. Bids for the
project will be solicited in July, with construction anticipated
to begin in August.
Discussion followed concerning pedestrian access along East
Riverside Drive and Rockwell Street, the possibility of including
and designing an ice skating area, and the cost summary estimate
of $700,000.
Mayor Dannels complimented EPURA and DSW on the concept plan
which will include the use of native materials.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
Vickie O'Connor, Town Clerk
