RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Town Board/EPURA Joint Meeting July 9, 1992 Attending: Mayor Dannels, Trustees Aldrich, Dekker, Gillette, Habecker, and Hix Chairman Pauley, Commissioners Klaphake, Pohl, Putney, and Swank Also Attending: EPURA Director Anderson, Clerk O'Connor Absent: Trustee Barker, Commissioners Ericson and Henderson The meeting was called to order at 7:32 A.M. MID -YEAR UPDATE. Director Anderson briefed all in attendance on the following projects: Post Office Riverwalk - This section of riverwalk was completed in early June and was finished under budget. Bond Park Revitalisation - Following demolition of the old library building, the area was sodded. EPURA believes the park should remain as open space with a minimum of formal structures or hard surface, and is recommending that when a Master Plan is prepared, this suggestion be considered as its primary focus. The Board of Trustees elected to postpone a decision on EPURA's recommendation pending upcoming public hearings. 75th Anniversary Plaques - Construction of said display walls located at the Coffee Bar island began June 24th. The contractor has experienced a delay due to unforeseen obstacles. Dedication will occur July 11 at 10:00 A.M. Two historic walking tours will take place the afternoon of July llth. Resetting of Streetscape Pavers - Pavers were reset throughout the downtown area of Streetscapes I and II, as well as the transit center. MISCELLANEOUS. Staff advised that interest (private) has been expressed with obtaining a Herb Mignery sculpture entitled "Green Apples" and installing it in Bond Park. With preparation of a Master Plan, perhaps placement of the sculpture could be incorporated. The private sector has initiated a fund -drive in hopes of collecting $20,000± for the purchase of the sculpture. No further action was taken at this time. Director Anderson requested an Executive Session to discuss strategy for legal action pertaining to the Stanley Historic District Roadway. Following a unanimous vote in favor, the meeting adjourned to Executive Session at 7:55 A.M. Vickie O'Connor, CMC, Town Clerk
