Director Anderson presented a sketch of the proposed Coffee Bar Island location for the 75th Anniversary plaques, stating it is EPURA's belief that installation of the plaques at this location will serve as a point of interest to further strengthen the downtown area. It is anticipated the series of 10+ 2' x 2' bronze reliefs depicting approximately 38 different historic events in Estes Park and sculpted by Cunningham Gallery will be installed on July 4, 1992. The plaques will depict historic events in the area, such as Lake Estes construction, early lodges, Joel Estes' arrival, the first Indian settlers, Estes Park Bank building, Bond Park, library, MacGregor Ranch, Enos Mills, post office, and the school, to name a few. Donars will be recognized on the plaques. A raised angled top planter wall will display the plaques, with larger concrete columns including sandstone caps at the ends of the walls. Three different groupings of plaques are envisioned with street trees placed around the perimeter, bench placement, and "brick on sand" detail along the walkway. Trustee Garrett, 75th Anniversary Chairman, noted the second plaque has been completed in clay and 9 of the 10 plaques have been sold with the possibility of two more being sponsored. All present expressed support for the plaques' proposed location. The above information will be presented at the March Public Works Committee meeting at which time, questions of snow removal and fire hydrant relocation will be addressed. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned. Donna Heifner, Dep%kt' Town Clerk
