PLACEMENT OF "JOEL ESTES" STATUE - DISCUSSION:
Executive Director Anderson presented a letter dated August 28,
1987 submitted by the Estes Family Association. Discussion
followed concerning a site for placement of the statue; potential
sites include: the Museum (in the planned courtyard area); or
the planting area adjacent to the Municipal Building located in
the Transit Center. Consensus of both Boards was to table this
item to allow additional consideration.
DARK HORSE PLAZA - UPDATE:
Mayor Dannels questioned the "entertainment" item included in the
Confluence Park line item in EPURA's budget. Director Anderson
advised EPURA is in the process of researching scheduled events.
Such entertainment is not unique; if regulated, spontaneous
events should not occur.
EPURA is in the process of drafting a proposal concerning "push
carts." The proposal will be submitted to the Planning Commis-
sion.
CONFLUENCE PARK - UPDATE:
Construction on the riverwall has begun on the north side of the
river. Construction meetings will begin October 7th for all
those affected in the construction of Confluence Park.
The Confluence Park Budget is now at $828,000 which includes
construction, underground utilities, and landscaping.
REPORTS:
Director Anderson reported on the 8th Pedestrian Conference held
in Boulder. Phil Lewis, a renowned landscape architect, was
extremely complimentary on the Streetscape project undertaken by
Estes Park.
RFPs regarding the Boyd Property are due October 9th.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
