regarding EPURA's 1991 activities and 1992 planned projects.
STANLEY HISTORIC DISTRICT ACCESS
EPURA staff has been in negotiations with property owners
surrounding The Stanley Hotel. There is present agreement for a
new entry into the Stanley Historic District. Director Anderson
displayed a drawing delineating the proposed street system, along
with design details, including a divided entry, naturalistic
landscaping (non -irrigated), a series of light standards similar to
those at The Stanley Hotel, a definition wall, fire protection at
the rear of buildings where fire hydrants are presently located and
a roundabout traffic circle complete with naturalistic landscaping,
lighting and bollards at each entry.
Landowner negotiations have resulted in a donation of rights -of -way
through the Findley property, and access through open space owned
by the Colorado Historical Society. The proposed project is
scheduled for February Planning Commission review. Construction is
anticipated to be completed before July 1992.
Completion of these negotiations will result in Safeway's
anticipated 10,000 sq. ft. expansion to its present facility.
EPURA will bear the roadway cost with financing and engineering
services donated by the Stanley Village developer.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
