REQUEST TO RENT STANLEY PARK GROUNDS JUNE 10, 11, 12:
Mr. Rich Hicks, representing the Estes Park Dulcimer Group, appeared
to request rental of the Stanley Park grounds June 10, 11, and 12,
1983. Mr. Hicks explained that as part of the Mayfest activities,
the local Dulcimer group would like to host the First Annual Dulcimer
Contest. Mr. Hicks stated they would like to have about 50 booths
for an arts and crafts fair as well as the dulcimer contest. They
would also need space for campers. Manager Scott stated that he
would need to charge the standard fee of $200 per day plus the $4.00
per night camping fee. The Committee recommends that the Dulcimer
Group be allowed to rent the Stanley Park grounds June 10, 11, and
12, 1983, provided they pay the rental fees, obtain an occupation
and sales tax license, and collect all the sales tax from the arts
and crafts fair.

Accommodations Association to serve food at the Arabian Show. Town

REPORTS:
Manager Scott reported that approximately $2,000.00 plus has been
donated or pledged for painting the Stanley Park buildings.
Manager Scott reported that he and Gary Shanafelt went to Denver
and were able to locate a 1976 water truck with a 1,500-1,600 gallon
tank for $8,500. The truck will need mud flaps, fenders and a new
paint job, but it is in good running condition.
A new straw truck has been purchased from Canyon Ford at a cost
of $16,382.29.
The barn/stall contract with Geise-Skipworth has been worked out.
Geise-Skipworth has been able to obtain the necessary bond through
Colorado West Insurance.
Manager Scott reported on leasing a portable building to accommodate
the commercial exhibitors at Stanley Park. A portable building
60' X 100' rents for $.50 per square foot per month, or $300.00
per month.
The barn repairs are coming along very well. The new grounds super-
intendent was able to hire a helper at $3.75 per hour and they are
doing the work.
Manager Scott took bids on washed sand for the arena and 3/4" base
fill. Jimmy Nytes bid on the 3/4" base fill at $4.98 per yard
delivered. There were no other bids for the fill. Manager Scott
received three bids for the washed sand. They are as follows:
Jimmy Nytes $9.10/ton delivered.
Robert Wagner $9.50/ton delivered.
Frontier $7.10/ton delivered.
The Committee recommends that Manager Scott accept the low bid of
$7.10/ton delivered price from Frontier for the washed sand, and
the $4.98 per yard delivered bid for the base fill from Jimmy Nytes.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
