Manager Scott stated that the existing barn would be converted to
office and supply storage. The existing straw barn converted to
shop and equipment storage. The chain link fence would be
installed west of the grandstand to control spectators. It was
still undetermined whether the fence should be 700 feet or 1100
feet. The 1100 foot fence would cost $7,176 installed, which
would decrease the amount remaining for the office/shop to
$1,979. The Entry Way modification would control water runoff
from the ticket booth into the barns. A lengthy discussion
followed on the Port -A -Stall building as well as a Master Plan
for Stanley Park. Manager Scott also reported that Dr. James
Durward of the Scottish Highlands Festival would like to purchase
the Stanley Park tents for $1,300.00. The Committee recommends
approval of the 1984 Stanley Park Capital expenditures, including
the purchase of the Port -A -Stall building, and recommends the
sale of the tents to Dr. Durward for $1,300.00. (Total capital
funds budgeted for 1984 - $82,105.) The Committee also recom-
mends the Master Plan for Stanley Park be included in the 1985
budget.
ADVERTISING:
The Horse Show and Rodeo Committee has revised their advertising
procedures by eliminating the placemats which were used in 1983.
The funds will be used for 40,000 color brochures which will be
placed in motels, restaurants, etc. Mr. George Nytes has donated
$700.00 to help promote the Roof Top Rodeo by advertising on
"Quality Checked" Milk cartons from May 1st until July.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
Ann E. Jense 4/To Clerk
Note: After the Town Board meeting of January 24, 1984, Manager
Bob Scott stated that Mr. Nytes did not donate $700.00
toward advertising on the milk cartons - the Horse Show and
Rodeo Committee paid the $700.00 toward the "plate" fee.
