RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS
Stanley Park Committee - January 27, 1986 - Page two
Manager Scott requested authorization to prepare the specifica-
tions and bids on a 3/4-Ton pickup truck. $14,000 was budgeted
in 1986 for this truck. The Committee recommends Manager Scott
proceed with specifications and bids and return to the Committee
for further review.
Approximately 22 RV spaces could be installed in the northeast
corner of the Stanley Park Grounds during 1986. The 1986 Budget
contained $52,800 for this installation. Installation will be
performed by a private contractor. The Committee recommends
Manager Scott prepare the design specifications and request bid
proposals; returning to the Committee for further review.
The Committee also discussed acquisition of a rock rake. Manager
Scott will present additional information on the rake at a later
date.
RED DALE WAGON TRAIN JAMBOREE:
The Red Dale Jamboree received authorization to use the Stanley
Park Grounds in July, 1985. The RV units do not carry group
liability insurance and are experiencing difficulty in securing
the insurance coverage. The Committee recommends Manager Scott
proceed with Town Attorney White in an effort to resolve the
insurance liability.
RESIGNATION - ESTES PARK HORSE SHOW AND RODEO COMMITTEE:
In a letter dated November 27, 1985, Robert Ault submitted his
resignation from the Horse Show and Rodeo Committee. With
regret, the Committee recommends accepting Mr. Ault's resigna-
tion.
ESTES PARK HORSE SHOW AND RODEO COMMITTEE - BOND ISSUE:
Mr. Rick Russell/E.P.H.S.R.C. Task Force informed the Committee
the Horse Show and Rodeo Committee will not pursue the $2.5
Million Bond Issue at this time. The Task Force has taken a
field trip to examine arenas. To determine costs involved, an
estimate to construct a building shell, which included wiring,
was obtained from Acme Steel Buildings. The estimate was
$672,000. The shell does not include any finished features such
as plumbing, a grandstand, and restrooms; however, the Committee
felt the shell would serve its purpose at the present time due to
the urgency of acquiring an indoor arena. Discussion followed
with no further action taken at this time.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
