In a letter dated September 28, 1990, James Durward, President/L.P.S.H.F.,
confirmed that the '91 Festival will be held September 6 - 8. The letter
contained standard requests plus the use of the grandstand on Friday from

Durward has donated a check in the amount of $2,000. Director Scott
reported: (1) Americade will also be using the grounds the evening of
September 6th; and (2) there may be a shortage of labor forces. Town
Administrator Klaphake reported that of the $2,000 donation, i will be placed
in the Stanley Park Fund, and z will be placed in the General Fund for Police
Services. Following discussion, the Committee recommends approval of the
request made by James Durward, authorizing staff and Town Attorney White to
prepare a Contract.
AMERICADE - 1991 EVENT.
Director Scott reported Americade has requested use of the grounds September
6, 1991. Should the arena be constructed, the event may be extended by an
additional three (3) days. Administrator Klaphake reported that a meeting
was held with various entities and Americade to discuss and solve potential
areas of concern. Discussion followed, with the Committee recommending
approval of the request, authorizing staff and Town Attorney White to prepare
a Contract (should additional use be confirmed, the Contract will be so
amended).
REPORTS.
Staff is attempting to book the National Little Britches Rodeo in 1993.
Approximately 2,500 people participate in this event; additional information
will be forthcoming.
Staff and the Finance Department are in the process of preparing a percentage
cost accounting for all special events. A Special Events Sub -Committee
(Klaphake, Scott, Hinze, Jungbluth) have been meeting to discuss potential
special events; to date, 33 special events have been discussed as very
probable events or functions. A "wool market" event will be held June 6-9,

horse shows held in the past will return in 1991, with the exception of the
Labor Day Arabians, who may be relocating.

(C.A.F.S.) Conference held in Denver January 7-8, 1991 will be distributed
when received.
