POLICE DEPARTMENT AUCTION - RESULTS:
Chief Racine submitted a summary of items sold at the auction
held August 15, 1987. A total of $2,375.88 was collected for the
Department.
EQUIPMENT PURCHASE - AUTHORIZATION TO PROCEED:
In a memorandum dated August 27, 1987, Chief Racine advised of
the opportunity to purchase various equipment at discounted
prices. By using the funds collected in the auction, the 1988
budget requests could be reduced. Various automobile equipment
for $1,374.00, master drug test kit - $62.00 and four fingerprint
kits - $382.05 bring the total expenditure to $1,918.05. A
memorandum dated July 21, 1987 prepared by Fleet Manager
Shanafelt concerning the installation of updated sirens and
control centers was also reviewed. A request to purchase an
automobile shield will be delayed at this time. The Committee
recommends approval of the expenditure in the amount of
$1,918.05.
ALARM ORDINANCE - REVIEW:
The Committee reviewed the final draft of the Alarm Ordinance
which was prepared by Town Attorney White. Alarm systems now
being serviced by direct connection to the Police Department will
terminate September 1, 1987. As recommended the by Committee
July 23, 1987 the Department will continue monitoring services
for the Estes Park Medical Center. Following discussion, the
Committee recommends adoption of the Ordinance.
REPORTS:
Chief Racine reported the "Americade" representative has per-
formed an excellent job in coordinating the event scheduled
September 1 - 5, 1987. A parade will be held Friday, September
4, 1987. East Elkhorn Avenue to the Highway 34/36 Intersection
will be closed approximately 20 minutes.
Coordinating efforts are continuing for the Scottish Highland
Festival scheduled September 11 - 13, 1987.
The Committee reviewed the monthly reports for July.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
