Chairman Garrett called the meeting to order at 2:00 P.M.
Administrator Klaphake stated Trustee Aldrich is on a personal
leave of absence for approximately forty-five days.
Chairman Garrett complimented the Police Department on its
excellent work and the procedures utilized to perform its
operations.
POLICE DEPARTMENT
Frost Giant Race - Chief Racine stated that Committee approval for
the recent Frost Giant Race was received by a telephone poll of the
Committee prior to the event. Timely submission of future events
will ensure adequate opportunity for Committee review.
Communications Relocation - Chief Racine reported the
communications and records relocation to the Municipal Building's
second floor is proceeding on schedule. It is anticipated the new
quarters will be operational on or before April 1, 1992.
Reporting System - A sample data report was submitted indicating
the retrieval capabilities accessed from the Larimer County
Sheriff's Department computer, noting the cooperation received
between the Town and County regarding necessary statistical data.
Estes Park Victim Assistance Program - Director Goelz submitted a
year-end report and summarized its contents with respect to new
programs, training, community education, Colorado Organization of
Victim Assistance (COVA) Conference (scheduled in 1992 at Estes
Park), staffing, funding, and donations. The Committee commended
Director Goelz for her outstanding work.
REPORTS
The Committee reviewed various correspondence, as well as an
activity report for the period January 1, 1991 through December 31,
1991. Chairman Garrett questioned the status of youth -related
criminal activities and requested the Department provide the
Committee with a 1990-1991 statistical comparison.
Lt. Emerine read a January 23rd letter addressed to the Committee
from Lts. Emerine and Filsinger on behalf of the Estes Park Police
Department personnel, acknowledging their appreciation to Police
Chief David Racine for his dedication to duty, willingness to
participate as a team member, and his assistance in the recent
search/arrest burglary cases.
There being no further business, Chairman Garrett adjourned the
meeting at 2:20 P.
