Vice Chairman Dekker called the meeting to order at 8:00 A.M.
POLICE DEPARTMENT.
Reporting Process. A statistical analysis of police activities
will be available in the near future. This analysis will be
computer -driven and will include such figures as the closure rate
on major crimes, which is outstanding at 80-90%, compared to other
municipalities. This report will provide more accountability to
the public, and will be presented to the Committee on a quarterly
basis in conjunction with the regular summary report. Trustee
Marshall suggested this detailed report be included in the
newspaper under Police Reports. Administrator Klaphake added that
this type of reporting is a major part of this Committee meeting
and will, in the future, be listed as a separate item on the
agenda.
The regular summary report was reviewed. Vice Chairman Dekker
commented on the number of traffic stops. Chief Racine explained
this was the result of increased radar enforcement and daily school
patrol. The correspondence summary was reviewed.
