The Committee discussed both the non-contributory and the contributory
Policemen's Pension Plans. It was decided to send all permanent Police
employees a questionnaire, asking their opinion on the contributory type
Policemen's Pension Plan. The Committee will decide on an actuarial study
after receiving the questionnaires from the employees.
Committee Chairman Petrocine reported the Civil Air Patrol is not interested
in operating the Ambulance Service. The Committee discussed the feasibility
of placing the operation and management of the Ambulance Service within the
Police Department. No decision was made on this proposal. In order to
plan for the necessary funding of a Municipally -operated Ambulance Service,
the Committee instructed the Clerk to include $8,000.00 in the 1967 General
Fund Budget for the purpose of operating the Ambulance Service.
