HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Police Committee 1966-06-16RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Police Committee June 16, 1966 Committee: Chairman Petrocine; Trustees Grove and Tregent Attending: Chairman Petrocine; Trustees Grove and Tregent Also Attending: Mayor Graves, Chief Banks and Town Clerk Hill Absent: None Mayor Graves suggested that the Police Committee study Section 18.5 of the Estes Park Municipal Code (Livestock Running at Large) and make recommenda- tions as to how this particular section of the Municipal Code can be administered. As directed by the Board of Trustees at their last regular meeting, the Chief of Police appeared before the Committee and suggested the Ambulance be administered and operated as follows: 1. The Police Department administer and operate one emergency ambulance. 2. The emergency ambulance shall be operated within an approximate 20-mile radius of the community. This operating area shall be about the same as is now served by the Fire Department. 3. Ambulance service shall be limited to local emergency calls (deliveries to a local doctor's office.) When there is no doctor available in Estes Park, the ambulance shall make emergency runs to the nearest hospital. 4. Trips to valley hospitals shall be handled by private ambu- lance services. 5. Emergency ambulance calls will be handled by the Police Department dispatcher. The Committee did not go on record as being either in favor or opposed to the above recommendations. The Committee did delegate the Mayor to talk to Mr. Carl Kibbey and obtain his advice and counsel as to the recommendations, and Chairman Petrocine is to contact Dr. Mall and Dr. Luce in regard to same.
