Police Committee Meeting
October 7, 1968
Committee: Chairman Tregent; Trustees Swanson and Steele
Attending: Chairman Tregent; Trustees Swanson and Steele
Also attending: Town Clerk Dale G. Hill
Mr. James Conant, operator of the Estes Park Ambulance Service, appeared
before the Committee and requested consideration of an amendment to the
ambulance agreement between his company and the Town of Estes Park. This
agreement will change the ambulance rates. The Committee reviewed the
proposed rates along with the rates now being charged by the ambulance
companies in Fort Collins and Longmont. The Committee decided to re-
commend to the Board of Trustees the new rates be adopted. The Town
Clerk was instructed to have the amendment prepared for the consideration
of the Board of Trustees.
Mr. Conant explained to the Committee the problem he is having in obtain-
ing ambulance attendants. As an emergency measure, to last only until
Mr. Conant obtains an attendant, the Police Committee is directing the
police dispatcher to aid Mr. Conant in loading patients when no other
help is available.
The Committee suggests all departments of the Town refrain from purchasing
from firms not licensed. This suggestion was the result of a discussion
of the delinquent Occupation License list. The Committee also directs the
Police Department to enforce the Occupation License ordinance.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
Dale G. Hill, Town Clerk
