These reports are attached to and made a part of these proceedings. FEDERAL AID: Federal assistance under the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act is reportedly available for the year 1969. The following application is recommended to the Board of Trustees by this Committee: Federal Town Total Training $300 $200 $500 Riot Control 225 75 300 Communication 300 200 500 $825 $475 $1,300 LOADING ZONE REQUEST: Mayor Brodie referred a request for an additional 20 feet to be added to the loading zone now located in front of the National Park Hotel. After considerable discussion, the Committee recommends to the Board of Trustees that this request be refused and that the hotel be informed the Estes Park Police Department will work with the operators of the hotel in every way possible and practicable to see that the loading zone requirements are being enforced. Chief Ault was instructed to contact Mr. Byerly and inform him as to the above action. PARKING TICKETS: Chief Ault reported the department has issued 237 traffic tickets through July and 304 in August. Tickets are being paid at a rate of 67%. BUDGET 1970: The balance of the Police Committee pertained to a close examination of the proposed police department budget for 1970. After considerable dis- cussion, the Committee directed the budget be resubmitted to a Special Police Committee. The revised police budget will not exceed $90,000.00 (approximately 15% increase over the projected disbursements for 1969 of $75,000.00).
