AMBULANCE:
Town Administrator Hill reported that the Colorado Highway Safety Coordi-
nator has advised the Town that project EM 70-013(001) in the amount of
$5,725.00 has been approved as of January 28, 1970. The ambulance was
ordered on February 2, 1970 from the Mountain Truck and Equipment Company
at a cost of $10,485.00. A suitable radio must still be ordered. The
possible purchase of this radio through the Colorado State Patrol will
be investigated. Mr. Conant will be requested to examine the minimum
supply list and place the necessary order.
PATROL CAR:
The Committee recommends a purchase order be placed with the State of
Colorado for the purchase of a four door sedan in the amount of $2,204.28.
The Committee also recommends the 1968 patrol vehicle be kept until late
summer or early fall and then disposed of by bid.
DRUGS:
Sergeant William E. Banks, Jr. briefed the Committee on the department's
plans and programs to educate the community on drug abuse. Sergeant
Banks displayed a drug exhibit prepared for the purpose of drug education.
POLICE REPORTS:
The police reports are attached to and made a part of these proceedings.
TRAINING:
Chief Ault reported on the proposed training program for department officers.
Town Attorney Hartwell will conduct
a training program on court conduct. The arrangements are to be made by
Chief Ault and Town Attorney Hartwell.
FEDERAL AID:
Chief Ault informed the Committee all federal aid requests have been
submitted and approved and that the department is now awaiting the funds.
LARIMER COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT:
A letter, dated February 17, 1970, from Ray K. Scheerer, Sheriff of
Larimer County, Colorado, addressed to Chief Ault concerning departmental
cooperation is attached to and made a part of these proceedings.

Subject: The year of 1969
Dear Sirs;
After going thru our files for the year of 1969, it was shown that there
were approximately 75 casesinvolving contacts with juveniles in where the parents
were also contacted. The follow statistics will give you an Idea of the type of
contacts and ages of the offenders along ui th their residences. As of 1-1-1970
a closer tabulation of the juvenile division was started and also a counseling
with juveniles was started.
