May 13, 1970
Committee: Chairman Petrocine; Trustees Brownfield and Tregent
Attending: Chairman Petrocine; Trustees Brownfield and Tregent
Also Attending: Town Administrator Hill and Police Chief Ault
The Quota Club of Estes Park, represented by Mrs. E. R. Anderson, Mrs.
Claire Noyes and Mrs. Ralph Johnson, met with the Public Safety Commit-
tee for the purpose of discussing the recent termination of the ambulance
agreement by the Estes Park Ambulance Service.
During the disucssion the Public Safety Committee, again, indicated their
preference for an ambulance service as follows:
1. Negotiate a new ambulance contract with the Estes Park Ambu-
lance Service.
2. Negotiate a new agreement with some other party.
3. Absorb the Ambulance Service into some existing Town department.
As indicated above in item two, the Committee discussed the possibility
of entering into an agreement with the Quota Club for the operation of
the ambulance. The Quota Club members indicated they would be unable
to call a meeting of their organization before fall and they doubted
seriously if the Quota Club would be interested in the agreement.
The Public Safety Committee assured the representatives of the Quota
Club an improved subsidy offer will be made to Mr. and Mrs. Conant, as
owners of the Estes Park Ambulance Service.
The Quota Club recommended the Public Safety Committee consider limit-
ing the distance the ambulance would be permitted to transport patients.
Limiting the ambulance to local service, unless the attending physician
declared an emergency, was discussed.
The Quota Club members assured the Public Safety Committee that they
will support the Committee's decision as it relates to the ambulance
agreement.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
