Committee: Chairman Petrocine; Trustees Tregent and Brownfield
Attending: Chairman Petrocine; Trustee Tregent
Also Attending: Town Administrator Hill and Police Chief Ault
Absent: Trustee Brownfield
WORK SCHEDULE:
Chief of Police Ault submitted a proposed work week schedule of "on six
days and off two days". This schedule, if approved, will replace the
present work schedule of "on six days and off one day". The proposed
schedule will change the work week from its present 46.5 hours per week
to 40.8 hours per week. Chief Ault assured the Committee the proposed
schedule would be compatible with the present work force and will not,
in itself, require additional staff. The Committee recommends approval
of this schedule.
POLICE SCHOOL:
The Police Committee authorized Chief Ault's attendance at the "Law
Enforcement Administrators Management Course" in Golden, Colorado. This
school will run from November 29th through December llth at a cost of
$105.00.
PARADES:
The Committee discussed parades and their effect on the community.
Following this discussion the Committee decided to recommend to the
Board of Trustees that no parade permits be issued for either Saturday
or Sunday.
LOITERING -VAGRANCY:
The Committee discussed at length some of the problems the community
has or will have due to the increased amount of loitering and vagrancy.
Possible future amendment to the Municipal Code will be submitted to
the Board of Trustees sometime prior to the 1971 season.
TRAFFIC DESIGN:
As suggested by the Public Works Committee and the Board of Trustees,
this Committee discussed the traffic design of East Riverside Drive
and Elkhorn Avenue. The Committee decided professional assistance from
the State Highway Department would be most helpful.
SIGNAL LIGHTS:
The Committee decided to recommend the traffic signal light at the in-
tersection of Elkhorn and MacGregor Avenues be placed on a "blinking"
condition during the winter season and that during the summer, a left
turn lane and arrow be added for east bound traffic on Elkhorn Avenue.
The Committee also recommends the State Highway Department consider
synchronizing the traffic lights in Estes Park.
