CROSSWALKS:
The Public Safety Committee recommends the crosswalks be given special
attention by the Public Works Committee. It is suggested they be given
better visibility and signing.
PARADES:
A letter, dated December 14, 1970, from the Chamber of Commerce regard-
ing parades was reviewed by the Committee. This letter suggested that
the Town consider limiting the ban on parades to Sunday only. The
Committee recommends to the Board of Trustees that this recommendation
be considered and that the ban on parades be limited to Sundays.
TRACTION SPLINT:
Mr. James Conant of the Estes Park Ambulance Service recommended the
purchase ($99.50) of a traction splint. The Committee recommends appro-
val. Mr. Conant stated, in his opinion, the ambulances were now fully
equipped and that additional equipment would not be needed in the future.
AMBULANCE UNIFORMS:
Mr. Conant submitted a request for the Town to purchase three (3) ambulance
uniforms at a cost of $74.88 each. The Committee referred this request to
Chairman Petrocine for approval or disapproval.
DISPATCHER'S SALARIES:
Chief Ault recommended a $20.00 per month salary increase for all dis-
patchers effective July 1, 1971. The Committee recommends the Admini-
istrative Committee consider this suggestion.
FEDERAL AID:
Chief Ault informed the Committee that the Towns request for Federal Aid
for training and construction was not approved as per the State of Colorado
letter, dated February 19, 1971. Chief Ault further reported that the
training request is being refiled eliminating salaries and has verbal
approval from the State of Colorado. The construction request is also
being refiled with certain modifications.
LARIMER COUNTY SHERIFF:
Chief Ault informed the Committee that Sheriff Watson has indicated to
him that the County can no longer provide the Town with the $250.00 per
month payment for services to the Sheriff's Department. The Committee
instructed the Chief and the Town Administrator to meet with the Sheriff
and discuss cooperation between the two departments and work out some
satisfactory arrangement. Chairman Petrocine is to be advised of this
action.
