Public Safety Committee
September 8, 1971

1968 PATROL VEHICLE:
The Committee recommends the 1968 Plymouth be advertised for sale by
public bid. Bids to be received by the Board of Trustees on September
27, 1971.
NOISE:
The Police Department will enforce the Model Traffic Code as it applies
to excessive noise. The Committee discussed the siren noise on the
Ambulance. Chief Ault to discuss this with Mr. Conant.
DRY CLEANING UNIFORMS:
Chief Ault asked committee consideration for Town financing of dry
cleaning for officers. Not recommended for approval.
JANITOR SERVICE:
Chief Ault requested janitor service at the Police Station. The
Committee recommends approval.
BUDGET FOR 1972:
Ambulance - The Committee recommends Mr. Conant's suggestion for painting
and overhauling the old ambulance at an estimated cost of $510.00 be
approved. Work to be done in 1972.
Estes Park Ambulance Service subsidy - The Committee recommends the
subsidy be increased 10% from $4,800.00 in 1971 to $5,280.00 in 1972.
All subsidy and salary recommendations are subject to the wage price
freeze.
The Police Department budget was reviewed at length and the finalized
figures will be presented at the budget hearings.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
