PROSPECT INN LOADING ZONE: Mr. Mike Marden, owner of Prospect Inn, submitted a letter dated February 5, 1974 (attached) requesting a loading zone in front of Prospect Inn. The No Parking Zone in front of Prospect Inn was to allow enough room to back the fire trucks into the old fire station and is no longer needed. The Committee recommends the request for a loading zone not be granted because other access is available and other businesses would also want loading zones. AMBULANCE CONTRACT: The Committee tabled discussion on the ambulance rates until the next meeting of the Committee. JUVENILE OFFICER: Chief Ault reported that Officer Cooper has been temporarily assigned as Juvenile Officer. NARCOTICS: Chief Ault reported to the Committee on drug investigation progress. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned. Dale G. Hill, Town Administrator PPR VED FEB 25 1975 3 j TUiUi' OF ESTES P.ANK ' BOARD OF TRUSTEES j mflllDEn ST111111S 201 PARK LANE ...... BINNS S. ARTHUR HENRY, JR. LUTHER L. PATTERSON FLORENCE SELANDER FRED F. STEFFENS Ruby and I have (surprisingly) come into ownership off our little building over here which we have occupied since 1950, and in the transaction we acquired Prospect Inn, too. During all this time, there has been a yellow Loading Zone stripe in front of the Inn, and I see it in use very many times during the summer, as tenants arrive and depart with luggage. I asked Bob Ault the status of this Loading Zone and he said it is not on the schedule. The Chief said I should ask the Public Safety Committee, through you, if they would consider re -instating the Zone so it could be activated again. The Inn has 25 rooms and the aver- age number of tenants there is about 48. The arrival and depar- ture commotion recurs often enough to make me feel the Loading Zone is a safety factor and much to be preferred over double parking for passenger and baggage purposes. If you will please tell me how I should proceed to make this request officially, if a letter doesn't suffice, I'll appreciate your advice very much.
