SUMMER OFFICER:
Chief Ault requested the Committee authorize one additional summer
officer. Funding for this position will be available through the CETA
program. The Committee recommends approval.
SHERIFF'S SIGN:
At the request of Lt. Baker of the Sheriff's office, the Committee
recommends the Board of Trustees allow the sheriff's office to place
a "SHERIFF" sign on the Municipal Building. The sign would be of the
same material and letter size as the existing signs on the building.
LOST AND FOUND:
Chief Ault reported the Police lost and found department has five bikes,
bike rack, clothing, etc. on hand in excess of one year. The Committee
authorized the Chief to advertise and conduct an auction to dispose of
the above mentioned items.
DISTURBANCE REPORTS:
A legal opinion from the Assistant Town Attorney states that the Town
does have the legal authority to enact and enforce an ordinance requiring
liquor license holders to immediately report any fight, disturbance or
unlawful act. The Committee recommends this ordinance be drawn and
adopted.
ANTENNAS:
The Committee recommends the Public Works Committee look favorably on
a request from the Colorado State Patrol to place a radio antenna on
the Municipal Building.
NEW PATROL CARS:
Chief Ault reported he had not yet accepted the two new patrol cars
because of mechanical difficulties, but he thought they would be accepted
within one month.
The Committee recommends the Chief be authorized to dispose of the old
patrol cars being replaced at the best possible cost.
LOADING ZONE:
Two freight companies have requested a loading zone near the west end
of the 200 block of W. Elkhorn Avenue. The Committee recommends the
Chief of Police select the exact place and proceed with the zone marking.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
Dale G. Hill, Town Administrator
