As an alternative, the Committee recommends delivery trucks be allowed to use the two easterly parking spaces of the middle section of Parking Lot #2. TEXACO STATION - REMOVAL OF PARKING SPACE: Al Avery requested that the parking space just east of his Texaco station on the north side of Elkhorn Avenue be removed so that his transport truck will have better access into the station for gasoline delivery. Because of the need for parking, the Committee recommends denial. BLOOD ALCOHOL TESTS: Chief Ault explained the current procedure for blood alcohol tests which involves taking prisoners to the hospital and having a qualified staff person draw the blood. Often obtaining the qualified person causes long delays and if the person resigns from the hospital, then a case witness is lost. As a solution, Chief Ault suggested that Mrs. Goracke and Mrs. Spoerlein, two registered nurses, be contacted to draw blood for these tests. Either nurse could be contacted anytime of the day or night and would come down to the Police Department to obtain the blood sample. The fee would be $10/sample which is $2 higher than the hospital fee. The Committee recommends the Police Department be authorized to call Mrs. Goracke and Mrs. Spoerlein for these tests. DOG CONTROL ORDINANCE: The Committee discussed revising the Dog Control Ordinance and tabled the matter until the next meeting for further study. REPORTS: TOW AWAY ZONES/WRECKER SERVICE - All except one of the wrecker services agreed not to charge when a vehicle is removed prior to the wrecker's arrival. Chief Ault said he would try to obtain a unanimous agreement. ^ 'here-bea.ng,Jw. further business, the meeting was adjourned. AUG 09 1977. r.ST_Es Arts_ ) Joa '}Van Horn, Secretary
