HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Public Safety Committee 1977-08-25BRADFORD PUBLISHING CO., DENVER RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Public Safety Committee August 25, 1977 Committee: Chairman -Burgess, Trustees Petrocine and Sutter Attending: Chairman Burgess, Trustee Sutter Also Attending: Town Administrator Hill, Chief of Police Ault Absent: Trustee Petrocine WILLIAM BURGESS: William Burgess appeared before the Committee to discuss and comment on the Estes Park Police Department and made several recommendations concerning its future operation. LITTLE LEAGUE FLAG FOOTBALL: The Committee recommends that the Police Department again sponsor a Little League Flag Football team at an approximate cost of $85. SECOND WEAPON HANDOUT: Allowing patrolmen to carry a second weapon according to stringent guidelines set forth by the Chief of Police was discussed and the Committee recommends its authorization. DOG CONTROL ORDINANCE: The Committee reviewed the proposed dog ordinance and recommends its approval by the Board of Trustees. BUDGET 1978: The Committee reviewed the proposed 1978 budget. REPORTS: BLOOD ALCOHOL TESTS - The new blood alcohol testing procedure will begin in early September. TOW AWAY ZONES/WRECKER SERVICE - Chief Ault reported that all of the wrecker services have agreed not to charge when a vehicle is removed prior to the wrecker's arrival.
