CURB CUT PROCEDURES:
Present curb cut procedures were discussed and the Committee recommends
Section 12.20.020 of the Municipal Code be amended to require Board of
Trustees approval of curb cuts in C-1 and C-2 zoning districts and
approval by the Building Inspector of curb cuts in all other zones.
REQUEST FOR A LOADING ZONE:
A request was received from Ed Edwards to convert the taxi stand in front
of Indian Village to a loading zone. Several adjacent businesses were
contacted and they expressed preference towards delivery taking place
in the alley along Wiest Drive. The close proximity of the intersection
and crosswalk was evaluated and the Committee recommends the taxi stand
not be changed to a loading zone.
SPEED LIMITS - STANLEY AND PROSPECT AVENUES:
The existing 25 mph speed limit situation and signing on Stanley Avenue
were discussed. The Committee recommends that Stanley Avenue be changed
to a 30 mph speed limit zone, that Prospect Avenue be changed to a 25
mph zone using the signs presently located on Stanley Avenue, amd that
the traffic schedule be amended accordingly.
ADDITIONAL PARKING SPACES IN FRONT OF FIRST NATIONAL BANK:
The Committee recommends that the present no parking area in front of the
First National Bank be converted into two parallel on -street parking spaces.
BOYD LANE:
A request was received from several Boyd Lane residents to install no
parking signs along both sides of Boyd Lane and to better relocate the
"dead end" sign. The letter commented that the street is too narrow for
parking and adequate traffic flow, and that adjacent properties have
enough space to handle parking for the residents. Trustee Rumley com-
mented on the narrowness of the street and that it would be most difficult
for a fire truck to get by if there were parked vehicles on the street.
The Committee recommends signing both sides of Boyd Lane for no parking
and to relocate the "dead end"sign so that it may be more readily seen.
CHARGES FORINCIDENT REPORTS:
Xerox copies of accident and incident reports have been supplied to the
public upon request for a maximum fee of $1.00. The Committee recommends
customers be charged the same rate for accident reports that is charged
for any xeroxing done by the Town.
INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION CHIEFS OF POLICE CONFERENCE:
The Committee authorized Chief Ault to attend the IACP conference in
Dallas during September 15th through 20th.
REPORTS:
Two officers will be stationed at the intersection of Elkhorn and Moraine
Avenues during peak traffic periods. One will monitor vehicular traffic
and the other will monitor pedestrian traffic.
The Police Department has been notified that it has been assigned a radio
frequency. Upon receipt of the FCC license, the Police Department will
begin installation.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
