AMENDMENTS TO THE ANIMAL CONTROL ORDINANCE:
Chief Ault reported that he, the animal control officer, and Dr.
Metzler had reviewed the City of Boulder and Larimer County's animal
control ordinances and had several suggested amendments to our present
ordinance. The Committee directed Chief Ault to submit a draft of
the proposed amendments to the Committee for review at the next meeting.
DOG LICENSING:
Chief Ault suggested lowering dog licensing fees in order to encourage
more people to license their dogs. It was brought out that the existing
fees discourage licensing of dogs that are not household pets. The
Committee decided to ask Dr. Metzler to attend the next Committee
meeting to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of lowering the
license fees.
PRIVATE RADIO FREQUENCY:
Apparently the Police Department's request for a private radio fre-
quency was denied by the State Communications Board due to a lack of
availability. The Committee directed Police Chief Ault to research
this request further through the state legislature.
REPORTS:
The shoplifting ordinance is presently being drafted by the Town
Attorney.
Applicants for the three vacancies in personnel are receiving extensive
testing to determine their qualifications. One patrolman position has
been filled.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
Joaan Horn, Town Clerk
