The Police Department has received the FCC license for the radio base
station. Chief Ault reported that the costs of the base station equip-
ment and the console will be approximately $13,250 which is considerably
below the estimated $16,400. Chief Ault requested the difference be
applied to the purchase of TV monitoring equipment to monitor the hall
areas adjacent to the jail cells and the booking room. The Committee
recommends approval.

Chief Ault researched the possibility of repairing the electric vehicle
locally and felt that it could be repaired for considerably less than
quoted in Denver. If a new electric vehicle were purchased, the same
model would cost $4,500 or a Cushman electric vehicle could be purchased
for $3,861 with a trade-in. Purchasing a mo-ped was also discussed and
it was generally felt that it would not be an adequate vehicle for the
parking attendant. The Committee recommends repairing the electric
vehicle locally.
OFFICE FURNITURE:
Pratt's Office Supply has a desk comparable with that of Seal Furniture
for$419.52 which is $220 below Seal Furniture's price. The Committee
recommends purchasing the desk from Pratt's.
VIRGINIA DRIVE - PARKING & TRAFFIC:
A request was received from a resident on Virginia Drive to remedy the
parking and traffic hazard along Virginia Drive between Big Horn Drive
and Virginia Lane. It was suggested that that portion of Virginia Drive
be one-way east bound and that the parking be prohibited along the south
side. Virginia Lane would then be one-way northwest bound. Residents
along this portion of Virginia Drive were presented with this idea and
15 were in favor, 1 opposed, and 5 were not reached. The Public Works
Director and Police Chief recommended removing the parking along the
south side, moving the yellow center line to the south to allow more
room on the north for parking, and keeping the street two-way. The Com-
mittee recommends proceeding with this recommendation at this time.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
*This portion of the meeting was
continued on 1/25/80.
