The Statutes no longer require an officer to investigate every accident - only those accidents where there is personal injury or property damage over $500.00. Minor traffic accidents are to be reported to the Police Department by those parties involved in the accident. Upto this date, the Estes Park Police Department has been covering all accidents and Chief Ault asked the Committee if they would like to change the policy to comply with State Statutes and have minor traffic accidents reported to the Police Department. The Committee recommends the Police Department follow State Statutes regarding accident reporting and that all minior traffic accidents with property damage under $500.00 be reported to the Police Department between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday by those parties involved in the accident. PARKING ENFORCEMENT Police Chief Ault reported on the summer parking enforcement procedure and asked the Committee if they had any recommendations regarding this procedure. The Committee feels that the Police Department's enforcement is adequate but recommends that the Parking Control Officer be hired to work from Memorial Day through August 20th. 1983 BUDGET: The Committee reviewed the 1983 Public Safety Budget. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned. ? SEP 281982
