Arbor Day: It was successful. Dan suggested that we write a thank you letter to the Grade School, the Youth Center, and Eagle Rock School. 2. Miscellaneous Items: Let's invite any interested people to our meetings. Let's put news from the Tree Board in the Trail Gazette. We will give the public information on what's happening with the board and plant lists, tree sprayers in town, loggers, etc. Our first article will be written by Wendall on our meetings and about the Rt. 7 trees. We will take turns writing the articles. Dan suggested that we print a calendar with how to take care of trees, etc. by the month. In the fall, Dave Farmer will write an article on wildfire. Wendall recommended that Dan belong to a professional organization. Dan is the City Forester. Dave Farmer said the ISA, International Society of Arboriculture, is concerned with the education or raising trees. The annual ISA meeting will be October 24-25, 1997 in Ft. Collins at the Holiday Inn on Prospect. Dave Farmer is our Colorado Tree Coalition representative. The next Tree Board Conference will be September 28, 1997 in Colorado. 3. Tree Ordinance: Section 7: Change wording to: Evaluation for retention of trees, in and near construction sites, ... The survival rate of transplanted trees is very low. Section 10: Business licenses - need to discuss more on licensing and certification. Wendall suggested that we wait until late fall to discuss revisions to ordinances. The next meeting will be held July 1,1997 at 8:30 a.m. in the Municipal Building. The meeting was adjourned at 9:55 a.m. Alice Gray, Secretary
