Members Present: Amos, Barker, Gray, Rische, Speedlin. Also Present: Dave Farmer
1. Dave Farmer gave a Tree Board Conference update. The Conference will be on Saturday,
October 17, 1998 from 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. at the Timberline Restaurant. Invitations will
be sent out. There will be a printed program agenda.
2. Wendell gave a pine beetle report. The YMCA still has beetle trees, about the same as last year.
Rockwood Estates has a wide swat with beetles. Discussion of sprayed trees doing well and
not doing well. Sometimes a beetle tree has all three stages of beetles. Dave Farmer stated
that if beetle trees are not taken out, there can be two to three times more beetle trees.
3. Tim will put an article on pruning in the paper after October 1'`
4. Dan will check about Tree Board membership for the Botanical Gardens (types of memberships
available).
The next meeting will be Tuesday, November 3, 1998 at 8:30 a.m.
