TREE BOARD MEETING #28 TOWN OF ESTES PARK January 18, 2001 Members: Present: Jeff Barker Dan Speedlin Parks Tim Rische Russ Franklin Parks Wendell Amos Alice Gray Dick Lang Public Works Committee Rep. EVIA Rep. 2-year term 2-year term 4-year term 4-year term 4-year term 4-year term 2-year term Dan Speedlin, Russ Franklin, Tim Rische, Wendell Amos and Alice Gray were in attendance. The meeting was called to order at 8:30 a.m. Please note: There will be no meeting in February 2001. 1. Meeting dates in 2001 will be Tuesdays March 6, April 3, May 1, July 3, Sept. 4 and Wednesday, Nov. 7. 2. Some goals for 2001: a. Arbor Day will be May 18, 2001 b. establish a tree -trimming program c. create a tree -trimming inventory and street tree inventory d. more educational materials e. offer tree walks for school children? f. designate new places to plant trees? 3. Dan gave us Dave Farmer's gypsy moth update. 4. The winter tree workshop will be in Greeley on February 16, 2001. 5. There has been a big beaver problem in Estes Park. Twenty-five trees have been chopped down and the damage totals $10,000. 6. The Tree Board information rack has been moved to the post opposite the Tree Board plaque. It is a good location.
