TOWN OF ESTES PARK
January 9, 2004
Members: JeffBarker Public Works Committee Rep. 2-year term
Dan Speedlin Parks Department Rep. 2-year term
Tim Rische Parks Department Rep. 4-year term
Russ Franklin Parks Department Rep. 4-year term
Wendell Amos EVIA Rep. 4-year term
Alice Gray EVIA Rep. 4-year term
Bob Seifert Community Representative 4-year term
Present: Dan Speedlin, Russ Franklin, Tim Rische, Wendell Amos, Bob Seifert, and
Alice Gray were in attendance.
1. Russ handed out tree coalition calendars.
2. Set goals for 2004:
A) Get Broncos into the Super Bowl;
B) GPS Trees into Arc View system(within Town limits);
C) Designate where largest tree species in the valley are;
D) More articles in the newspapers.
3. Take road trip around Town and educate members on tree species we use in Town and
show them largest species in valley. Go to arboretum in Fort Collins. Tentatively in April.
4. Put up Tree City sign at Fall River entry into Town.
5. Take Tree Board to nursery to tag trees for Arbor Day.
6. Find catalog from "III" for hats, shirts, etc., for Tree Board members.
7. Tree Board terms:
A) Wendell Amos will sign on for another term.
B) Vickie can ask JeffBarker if he will sign on for another term.
8. Next meeting February 6, 2004
Meeting adjourned at 9:30 am.
