HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Tree Board 2009-04-03ESTER ()PARK COLORADO TREE BOARD MINUTES April 3, 2009 — 9 a.m. Board Members Present: Absent: Scott Roederer Wendell Amos Sandy Burns Bob Seifert Mike Richardson Chuck Levine Rex Poggenpohl QUORUM: yes Other Present: Russ Franklin, Bruce Kane — Public Works Staff Diana Selby — Colorado State Forest Service Scott Zurn — Public Works Director Barb Boyer Buck — Support Staff New Member: Rex Poggenpohl was greeted as a new member and Bryan Michener greeted as an auditing member. Arbor Day: Sandy Burns reported on the schedule and plans for Arbor promotion including the "Tree Cookie" contest. Estes Park Pie Company will provide tree -shaped cookies as prizes and the event will have newspaper coverage. A sign-up sheet was passed around for board members to perform certain jobs associated with this event. Tree Symposium: Each board member present was given a panel to administer during the Symposium; also a sign-up sheet for certain jobs associated with the Symposium was passed around. Additional promotional ideas included presentations at community organization meetings, radio coverage and posters. Barb reported there were 12 vendors signed up to date, generating $1,200 in income to offset additional publicity and venue charges. Mike Richardson offered to visit area businesses to collect gift certificates as door prizes; Barb said she would solicit prizes from participating vendors. The meeting was adjourned at 10:30 a.m. and the group adjourned to the Holiday Inn for a final site tour. Submitted by Barb Boyer Buck, April 28, 2009. Barb Boyer Buck reported there were 15 vendors participating in the event. Meeting was adjourned at 10:00 a.m. Rex Poggenpohl and Barb Boyer Buck adjourned to the Holiday Inn to take measurements of the space so Rex could create a map of vendor tables.
