Buck, Dave Mahany, Scott Zurn, Russ Franklin and Bruce Kane of the Town of Estes Park Quorum: YES Budget Dave Mahany reported that there is about $12,600 left in Tree City Funds for 2010 and asked for direction from the Tree Board on how to spend it. After discussion, it was decided to spend half of it on new trees for the fairgrounds at Stanley Park and at Scott Ponds; and, the other half on fencing at the bird sanctuary on the Lake Trail. Since this area is controlled by the Parks & Rec District, Mike Richardson will approach Stan Gengler to make sure these funds can be used for this purpose. December 3 is the deadline to decide about purchasing the fence. Arbor Day Sandy Burns reported that Sunrise Rotary will be donating another bench for Arbor Day in 2011 and asked for ideas on how Arbor Day activities be expanded for next year. After discussion, it was decided to hold an Arbor Day commemorative planting at the Senior Center and ask for nominations from the public (in addition to the celebration at the elementary school). Beetle Symposium & Evening Talks Sandy Burns reported that Diana Selby from the Colorado State Forest service is very eager to help plan next year's events. It was confirmed that the half -day meeting at Town Hall will have several programs, including one from Town of Estes Park staff. Wildlife Walk application Barb Boyer Buck reported that the details for the next GOCO grant cycle will not be published until December 9. Beetle Busters update (HOA letter) Barb reported that the Beetle Busters will be focusing their efforts on educating larger community groups, such as HOAs, Tree City application Barb said that she has enough material to complete the Tree City application, but would like Russ' help with it. Other Business The board asked Barb to find out how many people have visited the Tree Board site and report on the next meeting. The December meeting was moved to the 10`h since the November meeting was late.
