DESCRIPTION OF WORK
General Statement of Duties:
Code No. 215
Responsible to the Board of Trustees for the efficient administration of all departments
of the town government.
Supervision Exercised:
Exercises supervision over all departmental supervisory personnel.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB: The following are essential functions of the job.
Any one position may not include all of the duties listed.
1. Job Duties: (assists in):
A. Efficient and effective administration of all departments.
B. Supervises the enforcement of all laws and ordinances.
C. Recommend an annual budget.
D. Administration of the annual budget.
E. Advise the Board of the financial condition of future needs.
F. Recommend actions concerning affairs of the town.
G. Perform duties prescribed by ordinance or by direction of the Board.
H. Annually propose an administrative organization plan. (it shall become
the administrative organization plan of the town, and all town
administrative procedures and functions_ shall__ be carried on in accordance
with such plan.)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required Knowledge. Skill. and Ability:
1. Thorough knowledge of municipal and fiscal accounting principles, practices, and
procedures.
2. Considerable knowledge of municipal organization, including applicable budgetary
ordinances and regulations.
3. Ability to analyze a variety of fiscal problems and make recommendations.
4. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
5. Ability to plan, direct and supervise the work of others.
6. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees,
other departments and the general public.
Education:
College Graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Public Administration, or related
field.
Experience:
Two years professional budgetary and fiscal experience in a public or private operation
of moderate size and complexity.
OR
Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
