season and, therefore, the Committee recommends temporary repairs
for the existing facility at a cost of $643.

the exterior of the Municipal Building (approximately 7,000 square
feet). One bid was received from Van Camp totaling $1,600. The

STANLEY PARK - IMPROVEMENTS - LIVESTOCK PENS REQUEST:
Director of Public Works Van Horn reported that an asphalt pan at the
exhibitors' gate onto Community Drive along with a culvert inside the
gate will be installed at Stanley Park.
Dr. Wesley Metzler, representing the Horse Show and Rodeo Committee,
requested that the livestock pens on the west side of the arena be
rebuilt. The total cost estimate of the project is $7,000. The Horse
Show and Rodeo Committee will fund approximately $4,000 of the project
and the Town will handle the removal and site preparation in-house.
The Committee recommends approval.
A.P.W.A. ANNUAL CONGRESS:
The American Public Works Association Annual Congress will be held in
Las Vegas from September 25th through 30th.
KIWANIS CLUB - PLAYGROUND REQUEST:
Phil Switzer of the Kiwanis Club, appeared requesting that the Town
designate an area downtown for a playground in which the Kiwanis Club
would donate and maintain the equipment. The Committee directed the
staff to study the proposal further and report back at the next meeting.
MICROPHONES - BOARD ROOM:
The existing sound reinforcement system in the Board Room has proven
inadequate in producing clear, distinct recordings for transcriptions.
A possible solution would be to increase the number of microphones to
allow a microphone to be placed directly in front of each Board member.
The cost of adding five microphones and a preamplifier would be $1066.60.
The Committee recommends increasing the sound system as proposed.
PUBLIC WORKS BUILDING:
The following cost analysis was submitted on the Public Works Building
which is 98% complete:
Estimated project cost as of 12-18-75 $177,384.69
Contingency 15,000.00
Total estimated budget 12-18-75 $192,384.69
Estimated project cost as of 4-15-76 $178,931.00
