Public Works Committee
/March 17, 1977
Committee: Chairman Dannels, Trustees Petrocine and Sutter
Attending: Chairman Dannels, Trustees Petrocine and Sutter
Also Attending: Town Administrator Hill, Director of Public Works
Van Horn
Absent: None
OFF-STREET PARKING:
The Committee discussed the advantages and disadvantages of possible
future parking locations and will study further those areas which seem
most feasible.
AUTOMATIC VOTING DEVICE:
The Committee recommends proceeding with the "in-house" installation
of the automatic voting device for Board meetings as originally recom-
mended and approved last June.
INFORMATION CENTER - LOBBY VENTS:
The above door -level vents in the Information Center lobby have proven
unsatisfactory in shutting out the cold air and wind. Public Works
Director Van Horn discussed the problem with the building contractor
who proposed rebuilding the vent doors at a cost not to exceed $2,000.
Director Van Horn suggested instead sealing the vents in the south wall
and covering them with cork which would provide additional insulation
as well as being attractive. The vents on the east and west walls
could then .be'reconstructed and would still provide adequate circula-
tion for the lobby in the summer. The Committee recommends proceeding
as suggested at an approximate cost of $300 - $500.
FIRE ZONES:
Building Inspector Clint Fairchild proposed various changes in the fire
zoning classifications which would serve to update the existing fire
zoning. Most changes proposed would place areas that have been recently
rezoned into the proper fire protection category. The Committee recom-
mended that all fire zones be reviewed as to their adequate classifica-
tion and a recommendation be submitted at a later date based upon this
overall review.
ANNUAL STATE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT MEETING:
The Annual Joint Meeting of the Counties and State Department of High-
ways will be held in Greeley on April 21st. Mutual problems relating
to the planning, construction, maintenance and administration of streets
and highways will be discussed.

A. STANLEY PARK TRACTOR - The Horse Show and Rodeo Committee
accepted Frontier Tractor and Equipment Company's bid for
a Ford tractor with the diesel engine option.
B. TALLANT PARK BRIDGE - In researchingfurtherthe two prestressed
concrete bids for the Tallant Park foot bridge, the higher bid
(only $24 higher) from Stanley Structures appears considerably
more inclusive and will be accepted.
GRAVEL SUPPLY - Public Works Director Van Horn reported that a
two to three year gravel supply has been purchased at a cost of
.3' $20,000. This purchase was done after considerable discussion
A ,` and pricing by the Public Works Director and Chairman of the
