The Committee recommends accepting Garret Motors' bid of $17,032.35 (includes $125 credit for skid shoes) and including another sander and the transfer of a snow- plow in order to equip another vehicle for snow removal at an addi- tional cost of approximately $2400. PAINT STRIPING MACHINE: The deteriorating condition of the paint striping machine now used by the Street Department is inadequate to handle the amount of striping to be done in Town parking lots. The Committee recommends purchasing a paint striping machine with a safety belt guard at a cost of $620. ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN POSITION: Public Works Director Widmer submitted a request to fill the vacant "Draftsman/Surveyor" position, change its titleto"Engineering (g102I - Technician", and raise the grade from 15 ($881 1 81) 1367). The job has evolved into a considerably more responsible position which serves the Light & Power and Water Departments as well as the Public Works Department. The grade and salary have not kept up with the increased responsibility and three persons have filled the position since etit originated in dnin Maarch chl1975. The salary could be divided among all General 429.3 Engineering Wages . . 60% Light & Power . . 569 Misc. Dist. Expense . 20% Water 794 Engineering The Committee recommends changing the title and grade to o "Engineeriinng t Technician", Grade 18, distributing the salary among as suggested, and filling the position immediately. INSURANCE - TOOLS: The Committee recommends insuring the Mechanic's tools valued pat $4500 - $5000 for $135/year ($50 deductible) in keeping commitment. The Committee will again review the matter at the end of the year. JAIL CELL PAINTING: A request was received from Police Chief Ault to repaint the jail cells, halls and floors with an extremely durable paint. Costs ofl 0. Additional guard rail will cost approximately $3.50/foot. The Committee recommends Mr. Hix's request be accepted and considered with the 1978 Spring street improvements. The Committee also directed the Public Works Director to research various alternatives of obtaining guard rail materials. LAND TRADE - ESTES PARK SANITATION DISTRICT - STANLEY MEADOWS: The Committee recommends the proposed lease between the Town of Estes Park and the Estes Park Sanitation District for the Stanley Meadows land parcels be approved by the Board of Trustees.
