STANT.F,Y VILLAGE PARKING COMPLEX:
W. 0. Myers, Roger Thorp, and Bill Van Horn appeared before the Com-
mittee to discuss the possibility of leasing off-street parking spaces
to the Town. Mr. Myer's proposed development, Stanley Village which
will be located just northeast of the Highways 34 & 36 intersection,
could provide over 300 parking spaces in addition to the 159 required
for phase I of the complex. Parking would be provided in an under-
ground structure as well as above ground and could be expanded when
phase II is developed. They also discussed developing public access
to the Tourist Information Center and across Highway 34 to the down-
town area by means of a crosswalk and underpass. The Committee
directed the Town Administrator to obtain a legal opinion regarding
the legality of the Town entering into such a proposal and to begin
researching the financial aspects.
EAST RIVERSIDE DRIVE BRIDGE:
The Committee reviewed the final plans and specifications for the
East Riverside Drive bridge which will be submitted for bidding in
August. Construction should begin in the fall.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
