addi-
tional space that could be provided by the former school superinten-
dent's office would greatly alleviate the problem and they offered to
pay half of the costs involved up to a maximum of $1,500. The Com-
mittee again expressed its concern that the space would be needed for
office purposes in the near future. Mayor Tregent commented that
additional space could be available by either consolidating meeting
rooms or the possibility that the County Health Department may move.
The Committee tabled the request to further research alternative means
of providing additional office space in the Municipal Building.

UNPAID STREET CUT PATCHING STATEMENT:
The Committee discussed the unpaid street cut patching statement con-
tinually billed to Gerald Palmer since 1977. Mr. Palmer claims it
is Mr. Romer's responsibility rather than his own but has agreed to
pay half. The Committee recommends no more street cut permits be
issued Mr. Palmer under any conditions until the bill is paid.
FIRE EXTINGUISHER BIDS:
Three bids were received for maintaining the Town's fire extinguishers.
Since no local bids were received and the bid amounts were quite close,
the Committee recommends Ziegler Fire Extinguisher continue to service
the Town's fire extinguishers.
LIFT EQUIPMENT FOR PICKUP PURCHASE:
The Public Works Director requested a tilting bed for a pickup be
purchased from E-Z Lift Ltd. for $500. The Committee felt that a
tilting bed would be quite useful for street and park maintenance and
recommends approval subject to E-Z Lift Ltd. obtaining an occupation
license.
REPORTS:
The State Highway Department surveyed the drainage problem on Highway 7
near the Baptist Church and has agreed to participate with the Town in
seeking a solution.
Requests for new bridges on Old Ranger Road and Crags Drive have been
submitted under the Safer Off Systems program.
Depending on weather conditions, the East Riverside Drive bridge might
be temporarily opened during Memorial Weekend.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
