ROBERT HUNT - EAST RIVERSIDE DRIVE BRIDGE:
Bob Hunt appeared before the Committee requesting cooperation in the
completion of the East Riverside Drive bridge. Specifically, he re-
quested the contractor ask permission before placing equipment on his
property and that he be notified prior to the street and sidewalk being
torn up. Public Works Director Widmer agreed to arrange a meeting with
Mr. Hunt and the contractor to discuss these items.
MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT FOR STANLEY PARK:
A proposed maintenance contract for Stanley Park was reviewed in which
the grounds keeper would be an independent contractor rather than an
employee of the Town. The Committee discussed adding a provision
specifying the months of service to be rendered and directed the staff
to contact the Horse Show and Rodeo Committee regarding such a provision.
The Committee recommends approval of the contract.
PINE TREE MEMORIAL:
Roxann West requested permission to
to be placed in Bond Park in memory
mends approval with the location to
Director.
donate a two to three foot pine tree
of Ida Morris. The Committee recom-
be determined by the Public Works
BASE MAP PROPOSALS:
The Committee reviewed base map proposals, a summary of which is attached
to these minutes. Bids from local surveyors were also obtained for
additional paneling. The Committee recommends accepting Kucera &
Associates'bid for the base mapping and Estes Park Surveyors' bid for
the additional paneling. Total contracts will amount to $24,956.
STREET IMPROVEMENT BIDS FOR 1979:
The Committee reviewed the street improvement bids which are attached
to these minutes and recommends accepting the bid of Coulson Excavating
Company, Inc. for $30,100.00
WATER SHOP BUILDING BIDS:
The Committee recommends accepting the bid from Roche Constructors, Inc.
for the Water Shop Building including alternate #2 and that the Public
Works Director negotiate with Roche Constructors regarding Alternate #1.
(Bid summary is attached).
BECKORD PROPERTY DEVELOPMENT:
A parking design for the recently purchased Beckord property was sub-
mitted which proposes approximately 42 parking spaces. The Committee
recommends removing the house, salvaging any worthwhile material for a
future Town surplus property auction, and proceeding with preparing
the property for the parking as proposed for this summer. The Committee
also recommends designating the parking as Parking Lot #11 (Morris).
MORAINE AVENUE REST ROOMS:
Public Works Director Widmer suggested a contractor be hired to
the waterline to the Moraine Avenue rest rooms because the Town
adequately equipped to handle the amount of rock involved. The
recommends the Public Works Director be authorized to negotiate
ject with local contractors.
There being no further business, the meeting was, adjourned.

Re: Base Mapping Proposals
Attached please find a summary of the proposals received for
the Base Mapping Program. The low proposal, submitted by
Kucera and Associates of Denver, appears to be also the most
responsive and therefore I would recommend awarding the con-
tract to them for Phase I plus a few topo maps as described
below with a provision for Phase II to be budgeted in the near
future.
I also took proposals from the two local surveyors for some
additional paneling or targeting work prior to the actual
flight date. These additional panels would increase the ac-
curacy and reliability of both our aerial photos and topo-
graphical maps. The low proposal (copy attached) was sub-
mitted by Estes. Park Surveyors.
The amounts recommended for funding now are as follows:
1. Light & Power; 1"..200' Aerial Photos $ 4,500*
2. Town; 1"."100' Aerial Photos 7,185
3. Ground Control 10,450
4. Additional Paneling:19 "easy" @ $22.26 1,021
12 "hard" @ $49.86
5. Topographical Base Maps; CBD area; 3 @ $600/ea. 1,800
Total Items 2 thru 5 $ 20,456
(Total Budgeted 20,500)
Total Phase I, Items 1-5 : $'24,956
* To be paid for by the Light & Power Department
