VIRGINIA DRIVE RELOCATION & TRAFFIC LIGHT:
A letter dated January 2, 1979 was reviewed from the Town Attorney
stating that a street could be legally rerouted through Bond Park.
In order for a traffic light to be located at the intersection of
Virginia Drive and East Riverside Drive, an offical request would
have to be submitted to the State Highway Department then the Highway
Department would conduct a study of the traffic situation to determine
if the intersection qualifies for a traffic light. The Committee
recommends submitting a request for a traffic light and that the study
be conducted during the summer.
FEDERAL BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROGRAM - INVENTORY:
The Committee recommends the Town participate in the Federal Bridge
Replacement Program inventory of bridge conditions to establish
ratings to be used in future federalfunding of bridges. The estimated
cost of the inventory is $100 per bridge.
WATER DEPARTMENT SHOP:
The Committee authorized the Public Works Director to obtain bids for
the construction of the Water Department Shop upon completion of the
excavation.
SHOP EQUIPMENT:
Public Works Director Widmer requested the following items be purchased
with the $2,000 budgeted for shop equipment:
Metal cutting band saw $400
Drill press with angle vise $385
Rear end tools $220
Metric wrenches and sockets $180
$ 1,185
The Committee recommends approval.
REPORTS:
Town Administrator Hill reported on a meeting with the County Health
Department, State Highway Department, Upper Thompson Sanitation District,
and representatives of property owners north of the landfill in which
the installation of a sewer line in the landfill area was discussed.
The estimatedcost of the sewer line is $42,000. The project is still
in preliminary stages, however, and several details have yet to be
researched.
The State Highway Department has determined that additional funding
from the Old Ranger Drive bridge cannot be transferred to the East
Riverside Drive bridge project.
The State Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation requested the Town
submit possible trails to qualify for the state trail system. An
application was submitted for the trail along Highway 34. If approved,
as a state trail, the Town will qualify for a 50/50 matching grant.
There being no further
business, the meeting was adjourned.
