PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE

STANLEY PARK WATER METER:
Only a portion of the water used at Stanley Park is presently metered
while the remainder is estimated. The Committee recommends installing
a water meter during spring 1981 to more accurately account for all
water used at Stanley Park.
SIDEWALK INSTALLATIONS AND REPAIRS:
The Committee discussed the safety hazard of pedestrians and vehicular
traffic on Virginia Drive and considered requiring the installation of
sidewalks, curbs and gutters. The Committee decided to invite Greig
Steiner and Gary Brown to the next Public Works Committee meeting to
discuss the situation. The Committee also directed the Public Works
Director to inventory sidewalk conditions, and submit recommendations
regarding repairs.
REPORTS:
Construction on the U.S. 34 bike path from the junction of U.S. 36 & 34
east to the town limits has begun.
Bridge load limit signs have been installed at the Old Ranger Road and
Fall River Lane bridges.
Public Works Director Widmer reported that the tire supply has been
ordered and that approximately two-thirds of the order is for bandag
recaps.
The gate installed by the University of Northern Colorado across Old
Ranger Road has been removed as per the Town Attorney's instructions.
The University may replace itfarther west on the road which would then
be on the University's property.
The concrete has been poured for the east entrance to Parking Lot #1.
